Germantown, Collierville, Memphis baby children family portraits Cindy Thymius bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Hello!  Welcome to this little corner of my world where I will share recent sessions of newborns, children, families, and weddings from the Memphis, TN area (although I do travel on occassion!).  Don't be surprised if you find a random stray thought or two... Most of all, sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of life God has given us.  Have a blessed day! ~Cindy

Memphis Commercial Photographer

Most people do not realize that I do commercial photography here in Memphis!  I am often asked to photograph quite a few commercial headshots for businesses, real estate photos for agents listing homes for their clients, photogragraphs for marketing materials and websites, etc.  I need to do a better job of featuring some of this work on my blog!  First up is an interior designer from Texas who contacted me through my website to photograph some work she designed here in Memphis.  I enjoyed photographing this project for her, and she is a really talented designer.  All my friends should check her out!  JK Designs (find her on facebook and see more of her sample work).

Blessings and Peace,

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15

Memphis Fall Family Portrait Photographer, Cindy Thymius

Though it is 100+ degrees outside, it’s hard to believe that portrait photographers across America are scheduling fall sessions…yet it’s true!!!  It’s a time many families plan to have their portraits scheduled.  The great cool down will begin before we know it!!  If you’ve been thinking about calling and scheduling your fall session, I encourage you to do so.  Saturday spots fill up so quickly (and in honor of the Lord’s day, I do not work on Sundays).  Please…e-mail at cindy@cbtphotography.com if you need to get on the calendar!

To put you in the mind of cooler temperatures and fall days, below are sample images from just a few sessions from last year.

Blessings and Peace,

Cindy

Arlington TN Family and Children Portrait Photographer

This next blog post features a family that I really enjoyed meeting and working with.  These two boys are just the cutest, and I had the best time laughing and talking about some of the things that little boys like: Thomas the Train and Percy!  It brought back sweet memories of when my son enjoyed that series.  We all had a great time creating these portraits together.

Enjoy!  Blessings and Peace,

Cindy

Germantown, TN Children and Family Photographer

To say this is a wonderful family would be an understatement!  These children are so precious, and their parents are some of the most giving and loving parents I know.  Mom contacted me to have portraits taken while Dad is away for a year serving our country.  I don’t need to tell you what a huge sacrifice he and his family are making for us.  I pray for this family and others like him daily, and I am very thankful for all soldiers do for America!  This session was so much fun, and it just added another blessing to my life to be able to take them for this amazing family!

Blessings and Peace,

Cindy

Collierville Baby and Children’s Photographer, Mr. P

I recently met up with Mr. P. and his mother for his one year portraits!  Mr. P. has the sweetest personality!!  I have enjoyed photographing him throughout his first year of life.  Like most one year olds, he was quite interested in the rocks where we were photographing, but I enjoyed capturing all his different expressions.  Thanks for a great year Mr. P!

Blessings and Peace,

Cindy

Memphis Newborn Twin Photography, Infant Portraits in Germantown

Wow!  Where do I begin in this post? Last year I photographed these precious twins aunt’s wedding at the Collierville Town Square.  (Did you get all that?)  These twins happened to be in town immediately after their birth, and the family wanted to know if I had any time to photograph them.  How fast can I say “yes”?!?!  Everything just flowed together for this session.  We took these images at one set of grandparent’s home in Germantown, TN.  I love it that both set of grandmothers were there helping out with these adorable babies.  I walked in the kitchen and had this crazy idea to use cake platters, and I was so thrilled when both grandmothers loved the idea.  We rounded out the theme with using the menu bunny to announce the names of each baby.  This Germantown home was perfect for portraits…nice shade and lush landscaping.  I had recently received a big box of handmade hats from a very dear sweet friend, and I was so excited that I was able to use them during this session, too.  I walked away from this session soooooo happy!  These babies are such a blessing and a gift, and I was excited to capture them in an artful and unique way for the families.

Blessings and Peace,

Cindy

Fourth of July–Independence Day

As the Fourth of July approaches, I hope you will take time and reflect why this day is so important.  Think about all the men and women who have lost their lives so that we may have our freedom.  Think about the men and women who sacrifice their personal time, time away from family, and those who daily risk their lives so that we may have freedom.  It’s not a blessing to take lightly.

I’d like you to take it one step further and think about your own freedom spiritually.  Are you free from sin?  Do you celebrate God’s free gift of salvation?  I can’t think of a better example of what it means to really be free than having that of God’s salvation and grace.

I’m so thankful that Amercia’s founding fathers placed their belief and faith in God.  John Adams wrote this to his wife: “The second day of July, 1776, [his estimate was off two days] will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

Let us give thanks and praise to our Lord as we celebrate this Independence Day together.

Blessings and Peace,

Cindy

Germantown Baby Portraits

This little lady had three women all at her feet vying for her attention!  Sometimes I get so tickled at everything the parents, grandparents, and I will do to capture photos.  But, in the end it’s SO WORTH IT!  You can’t buy back those moments in time!  I was very pleased with what we captured this day despite a seemingly unwilling participant :) .  I am often told by parents, “Cindy, you are just so patient; I don’t know how you do it!”  :)

Memphis Children’s Portrait Photographer–My Big Backyard

I have been photographing this cutie since she was six months old!  It doesn’t seem possible that this session was her two year old portrait sitting.  I have enjoyed getting to know Miss T’s mom and dad during this time, and I always enjoy hearing what new adventures Miss T has gotten herself into!  We certainly had our fair share of adventures together as we wound our way through My Big Backyard photographing this milestone in her life.

Blessings and Peace,

Oxford, Mississippi Baby, Children, Family Portrait Photographer

Mom commissioned me last year to travel to Oxford, MS to take photos of her sweet baby M for the next year.  Since I’m already in Collierville, the drive out to Oxford really hasn’t been too bad of a drive!  Mr. M’s cousin joined us for the photo session that day for twice the fun.  Can you believe Mr. M wasn’t feeling well that day?  When I left, Mom seemed so disappointed as I know she had been looking forward to his session.  When she received the link, she was so happy with our captures of the day!  I absolutely LOVE working with this family!

If you are in Oxford and are interested in having portraits made of your infant, baby, child, family, bride, wedding, or commercial business, please be sure to contact me!

Blessings and Peace,

Cindy
