I met this adorable boy and his super sweet mother through a referral (thanks, girl, you know who you are!!)! I have been photographing the mom’s friend ever since we have moved to Memphis, and mom was thrilled to find a photographer who photographs on location in a non invasive way. When we began the session, Mr. H. was not in the best of moods, and mom thought we may have to reschedule. I wanted to make sure she had the best portraits, so I would have done whatever was necessary. It turns out that Mr. H. just needed some time to relax and unwind a bit! We were both so happy with what we captured that day! I just love all of Mr. H’s expressions, don’t you?

Twin Newborn Photography Session in Collierville

Oh.my.goodness! These sweet newborn babies were born about a month early, and could they be any more precious? I don’t think so! This great family lives just down the street from me in Collierville (literally), and I was so glad to hear that the delivery went smoothly and the family was doing well! When mom contacted me to do the newborn photos, I wanted to do them before the babies were two weeks old. It’s amazing how fast infants grow once they are first born, and they become increasingly more alert after two weeks. Mom readily agreed! I was so excited to photograph these twin babies and take some family portraits. I enjoyed visiting with my friend and sharing ideas of how we were going to photograph the twin portraits. I was impressed with how patient both parents were during the session. I love walking into a home that is full of love and joy!

Memphis Senior Photography

As a photographer, I am often asked to photograph a wide array of clients here in Memphis from expectant mothers, infants, children, toddlers, tweens, teens, seniors, families, brides, weddings, sports portraits, commercial clients, pets…you name it! This particular senior session was a lot of fun, even though I think we picked the absolute hottest day in Memphis to do them. This senior had a charming sense of humor, and I really had to hold my laughter during our session. He just graduated from Germantown High School, and mom (a dear, sweet friend!) wanted something different than the standard studio option that it seems most high schools must use for their cap and gown senior portrait. When I receive calls like this, I tell parents that there is no additional charge for outfit changes (though he was a guy, it was hot outside, and he opted not to have an outfit change). I think local high school seniors should have choices and options if they want them when it comes to getting their high school portraits made, don’t you?

Memphis Engagement Photographer, Memphis Wedding Photographer

Some of you may remember this couple from their Collierville Wedding I photographed last year! Their wedding was so beautiful at the Collierville United Methodist Church on the Historic Town Square in Collierville. My wedding collections include Memphis bridal portraits and Memphis engagement portraits, and this couple opted to wait and do a year later session! We had so much fun in Memphis as we did their couple portraits. They were so relaxed. I enjoyed hearing about their first year of marriage and the different travels they’ve journeyed in their first year of marriage. It was so great to see them and catch up. It was even better to see the love written all over their expressions and movements.

Collierville Family Photography, Portraits on the Historic Town Square

I have known this wonderful family for several years now. We attend the same church together, and it’s always an honor and an extra added blessing when a member from my church asks me to photograph their family. This family holds an extra special place in my heart for so many reasons! I really admire them for putting faith in God no matter the circumstances that come their way; they truly are an inspiration. I know God has something special planned for them on their journey! In the meantime, we took these family and children portraits at the Historic Town Square in Collierville. Lately, I’ve really enjoyed utilizing the Collierville Town Square more and more for family portraits! Although it was another steamy day in the Memphis area, everyone held up beautifully.

Memphis Wedding Photographer

What do the following have in common: strong thunderstorms, Memphis Botanic Gardens, Chimes Wedding Chapel, the city of Memphis, and the state of Washington? You guess it…a wedding!!! The bride from Washington contacted me months in advance to photograph her wedding at the Memphis Botanic Gardens. Unfortunately, the Memphis area was hit by VERY BAD THUNDERSTORMS that weekend, so she was frantically looking for a place to host her wedding. The Chimes Wedding Chapel in Midtown was very sweet to let the bride have her intimate wedding there. I must tell you…the Chimes Wedding Chapel is a lovely place if you need a small, quaint venue for your wedding! This couple and family were great from the first phone call, and they handled the change of venue seamlessly! The clouds drifted apart for just a few minutes for me to capture some moments outside between the rain drops. I could share SO MANY images from this ceremony! Enjoy! Congratulations, guys, and many blessings to you as you begin your journey together!

Memphis Infant Photographer, Memphis Family Love!

I couldn’t wait until this session was next in line to blog! I have so many incredible opportunities to meet with families…somtimes I meet them at a park, at a public setting like the Collierville Town Square, or even their own home. I had no idea when I met this family that half the neighborhood would join in on the fun of family portraits! It was so sweet to see the neighbors accomodate this fun family. And when I say the neighbors pulled out all the stops…they did! Whatever we needed, big or small, they provided in a cheerful and lighthearted way. I love to see neighborhoods get together and celebrate this way, especially when it’s the birth of a gorgous little baby! I would love to see more of this in our community!!

Enjoy the photos! I had a great time documenting this day, and the portraits bring a smile to my face as I recall how we all worked together for this special little miracle!

Memphis Commercial Photographer

Most people do not realize that I do commercial photography here in Memphis! I am often asked to photograph quite a few commercial headshots for businesses, real estate photos for agents listing homes for their clients, photogragraphs for marketing materials and websites, etc. I need to do a better job of featuring some of this work on my blog! First up is an interior designer from Texas who contacted me through my website to photograph some work she designed here in Memphis. Memphis Fall Family Portrait Photographer, Cindy Thymius

Though it is 100+ degrees outside, it’s hard to believe that portrait photographers across America are scheduling fall sessions…yet it’s true!!! It’s a time many families plan to have their portraits scheduled. The great cool down will begin before we know it!! Arlington TN Family and Children Portrait Photographer

These two boys are just the cutest, and I had the best time laughing and talking about some of the things that little boys like: Thomas the Train and Percy! It brought back sweet memories of when my son enjoyed that series. We all had a great time creating these portraits together.
